Operations begin the last quarter of 2010, if all goes according to plan.
The Siliken Group of renewable-energy companies will open a plan for manufacturing PV modules in Ontario, Canada with an initial production capacity of 50 MW. Operations begin the last quarter of 2010, if all goes according to plan.
The new plant should create approximately 150 direct jobs in Ontario. When manufactured, the equipment aims at producing clean power for approximately 19,000 average households. In producing clean energy, the units should eliminate yearly emissions of 40,000 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Other Siliken plants currently in production are in Valencia, Spain and San Diego, CA. The demand for PV equipment has started to grow since bonuses for power production (FIT Program) have been introduced for PV installations in Ontario.
