Mitsubishi Chemical and Pioneer Jointly Develop OLED Products

Alliance to faciliate mass production of OLEDs

By 2011, Mitsubishi aims at mass production of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) in a joint alliance with Pioneer Corp. Additionally; Mitsubishi plans to invest in Pioneer by the end of March to help turnaround Pioneer’s business, according to Japan Today.

Sales targets for the OLED lighting business in this alliance are 30 billion yen by 2015 and 100 billion yen by 2020. Pioneer will supply the OLED lighting panels using Mitsubishi Chemical materials.
