Advanced Greig Laminators (www.aglinc.com) announces the availability of a 40-in. foil laminator that features a 24-in. (610-mm) product unwind, an 18-in. (457-mm) adhesive unwind, and Accuweb Micro 1000 electronic web-guide control system. AGL says the laminator’s Wide Array edge detectors with remote guide-point adjustment allow an operator to quickly line up the upper adhesive to the lower foil, thereby facilitating perfect alignment into the nip. The product rewind’s drive system enables the windup of defined lengths of laminated materials. A pneumatically controlled lay-on roll assembly winds to a maximum diameter of 24 in., and the machine also features taper-tension-windup control. All shaft locations feature safety chucks and air shafts. Safety features include 24-in. light curtains prior to the nip, as well as emergency-stop switches at all four corners of the machine. The laminator supports processing speeds of 0-150 ft/min (0-46 m/min) and a pneumatic-transducer tension-control system.
