Polyonics (www.polyonics.com) developed Tribogard antistatic materials for application to circuit boards and components. Its XF-781, XF-782, and XF-446 are designed to maintain a peel voltage of less than 100 v and label-surface resistance between 1.0 x 108 and 1.0 x 1011 ohms, thereby keeping the materials in the dissipative range. XF-781 and XF-782, are engineered to survive the high heat, harsh chemicals, solders, fluxes, and cleaners used in lead-free and standard electronics-manufacturing processes. They’re designed to resist chemicals and abrasion and withstand process temperatures up to 617°F (325°C) for the white material and up to 550°F (287°C) for the colored labels. XF-446, is a 2-mil white, semi-gloss, thermal-transfer, static-dissipative polyester material. It is engineered to provide a cost-effective solution for applications where the temperature does not exceed 400°F (204°C) and designed for the cool side of the board. All materials feature a non-conductive adhesive.
