Schott North America (www.us.schott.com) introduced its Deep UV-200, a one-part thermally activated silicone adhesive, which is designed for a variety of applications requiring high ultraviolet (UV), visible, and near infrared (IR) transmission, including photovoltaic and concentrating solar arrays and UV-LED. Deep UV-200 is said to enable solar-array systems to use more sunlight and, in turn, generate more energy. The adhesive is engineered for low gassing, low reactivity to gamma and electron radiation, thermal stability to 428°F (220˚C), adhesion to variety of substrates, and a long shelf life.
